Diners in Weymouth may soon see expanded service options at a local eatery following a new formal request submitted to licensing authorities. A tapas restaurant in the town has put forward an application to secure a drinks licence that would permit the sale of alcohol during evening hours.

FIKA Weymouth Ltd applied to Dorset Council for a new premises licence, including permission to sell alcohol from 9am–11pm every day.

The submission focuses on securing permission to serve alcoholic drinks to customers during later trading periods. If local regulators grant approval for the request, the establishment will be permitted to stretch its operational scope, offering a combined food and drink service tailored specifically for night-time patrons.

Currently, the venue is seeking to enhance what it offers to those visiting during the later parts of the day. Obtaining the licence would mark a change in the restaurant's daily operations, enabling it to cater to evening diners who wish to order drinks alongside their meals.

The proposal centers on extending both dining choices and beverage options for customers in Weymouth during evening hours. Should the application receive official clearance, the venue will be able to welcome guests for full evening dining and drink services.

At present, the application awaits a decision from the relevant licensing authorities before any changes to evening alcohol sales can be implemented at the premises.
