Drivers and residents in Weymouth are being advised of further overnight road closures on the Esplanade as resurfacing work continues.

The next stage of the project will affect the section between the Jubilee Clock and St John's Church, with work scheduled from 8 October until 15 October.

Work is set to take place overnight between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, in an effort to reduce daytime disruption.

Dorset Council is carrying out the project in stages following checks that found parts of the road surface were showing signs of wear.

Signed diversion routes will be in place during closures. Access for pedestrians to homes, businesses and hotels in affected areas will remain available.

Residents with parking permits have been permitted to use spaces at the Swannery Car Park during the works.

Earlier works included sections between King's Street and the Pavilion, as well as the area between the Jubilee Clock and the Pavilion.
